LFK's kayaking lessons will get you started with the skills you need to kayak safely and efficiently.  

Learn to Kayak on the Noyo River - In this 1.5 hour lesson/tour, we will introduce you to the skills for kayaking on calm, protected waterways like our local rivers. Learn basic safety skills, strokes, tips for planning with the tide/current and tips for wildlife watching. We will accommodate you with single kayaks and style you with an awesome lesson/tour. $200 for 1-2 people or $300 for 3-4 people - all equipment included - contact us to schedule.

Kayak Skills I (for the River and Ocean) - There are many skills necessary for kayaking in the ocean. Most important is how to get back into or onto a capsized kayak. This special 3 hour private lesson will get you started in the Noyo River with basic kayak skills - strokes, safety, and capsize recovery. If you do not know how to get back into or onto a capsized kayak or haven’t done it in awhile, this lesson is for you. We encourage you to do this lesson with your paddling pal so that we can teach you assisted rescue techniques. $225 for one person, $300 for 2 people, or $450 for 3-4 people. All equipment is provided for the lesson including a farmer john wetsuit. Contact us to schedule.

Ocean Kayak Skills - This lesson is for the experienced kayaker who has a solid grasp of basic skills and can reliably get back into or onto their kayak after a capsize. This 3 hour lesson is taught in the Noyo Bay and is customized to your knowledge and interests for ocean kayaking. We recommend using your own kayak and equipment so that you can learn your gear in the ocean. If you don’t have equipment yet, we have rental equipment available for you and can advise you on what we know to work for our kayaking on the Mendocino Coast. We recommend that you take this lesson with a friend or family member that you will be paddling in the ocean with. This 3 hour private lesson in Noyo Bay is $225 for 1 person, $300 for 2 people, or $450 for 3-4 people. Kayak rentals are $50/person. Wetsuit rentals are $20/person. Contact us to schedule.

Mendocino County Resident Special - Kayak Skills I and Ocean Kayak Skills - 2 people including all equipment $500. The first 3 hour private lesson will be at our shop in the Noyo River.
