Cancellation & Future Credit Policy
Lesson Deposits and payments are non-refundable
We are not able to offer refunds at any time for cancellations regardless of the reason. Since spots are extremely limited and creating lessons requires a lot of logistical planning we must adhere to a strict cancellation policy. Things can happen, so we highly recommend purchasing insurance in the event you cannot attend your lesson or event with us.
Future credit is available for the following situations:
LFK Cancels the Lesson due to Adverse Conditions* – In the case we are unable to operate the class due to the sea state, river levels, air quality, or general conditions that would impact the safety of students, students will be given credit for a future class or lesson. The credit is valid for 1 year from the date of cancellation.
Student Injury or Illness due to an Accident – If students need to cancel due to injury or illness, please provide the statement from the hospital or urgent care clinic to be offered a credit minus a 20% administrative fee to use towards a future class or private lesson. The credit is valid for one (1) calendar year from the date of cancellation.

Sea state, river levels, air quality, weather and other general conditions are difficult to forecast and predict. When we schedule your lesson, we use our knowledge of local weather and water patterns to schedule you for an optimal time. We cannot control the weather and water conditions but usually have back up plans for adverse conditions. We may adjust the start and finish time of your lesson, the location, and/or the content of your lesson as conditions dictate. We will be in communication with you prior to the lesson start date as we monitor the conditions.
You are encouraged to monitor weather forecasts and communicate with us any concerns. Weather and water forecasts are notoriously inaccurate for Mendocino County. We monitor the forecast and conditions closely. The health and safety of our students and instructors is our top priority.. If we are not able to modify or adjust the lesson to operate safely, we will cancel the lesson and you will receive full credit for a future lesson to be used within 1 year. We do not offer refunds or credit if you cancel based on the weather/water forecast.
Refund credit must be used within 1 year and may not be rolled over into another clinic or trip more than once.
