Launch, land, and play in the surf zone with control, safety, finesse, and FUN!!!  Boat control skills in the surfzone directly transfer to boat control in rock gardens.  In this course, we will hone boat control skills as we paddle and play in the surfzone.

Prerequisite skills include ablility to swim 25 yards with your equipment, fitness and paddling skills to paddle 6 miles, paddling backwards with control, and bracing.   Dressing for immersion (wetsuits or drysuits) is required.  We highly recommend taking our Sea Kayak Rock Gardening Class prior to Surfzone FUNdamentals.  For more recommended skills check out the American Canoe Association Coastal Kayaking Skills - Level 2.

$110/person (paddlers using their own sea kayaks and equipment)

Sea kayak and equipment rentals are available.  $50 for a plastic sea kayak, paddle, and spray skirt.  Wetsuit and splash jacket rentals are $10.
