Sea Kayak – Learn – Explore
Explore the waters of the Mendocino Coast this summer with the local kayaking experts of Liquid Fusion Kayaking. This summer LFK is hosting a sea kayak club to get locals out on the water and build a community of skilled sea kayakers. LFK’s Mendocino Sea Kayak Club kicks off with a class followed by 5 instructional sea kayak journeys. Each journey will include 4-6 miles of coastal paddling with wildlife watching and kayak instruction. Kayak instruction will build your individual skills, skills as a team, and knowledge and awareness of the coastal environment.
Who - This summer sea kayak program is designed for ages 16 and older and all abilities. If you are interested in sea kayaking, this is a great way to experience our local waters, try out equipment, and meet other paddlers. For seasoned paddlers, this is a great way to build on your paddling skills, meet other paddlers, and enjoy a summer of paddling fun.
When - LFK’s Mendocino Sea Kayak Club will run on Sunday afternoons May 17- July 26. Dates listed below.
Equipment - For those who are new to sea kayaking, we have an all equipment provided option that includes all equipment and transport for the equipment to each week’s venue. We also have additional Sunday afternoon rentals available to club members.
The kayaks that we will be using are touring sea kayaks and touring sit on top kayaks. Touring sea kayaks must be at least 12.5 feet and have LFK approved safety features (bulkheads, decklines, flotation). Touring sit on top kayaks must be at least 14 feet long. Wetsuits or drysuits are necessary for all ocean paddles and rescue trainings. Helmets must be worn for sea cave exploration and will be provided for days we are planning to paddle in sea caves.
Where – The first class will be held on the Noyo River. The location for the other journeys will be determined the Friday before the journey and will be based on coastal forecast including tides. Potential locations include -

Pricing- LFK’s Sea Kayak Club Session 1 – 10% Discount if you register and pay by April 1.
6 Sessions including equipment - $540/person ($486 by April 1)
6 Sessions including equipment and Optional 5 Sunday Rentals - $640/person ($576 by April 1)
6 Sessions using your own equipment $300/person ($255 by April 1)
Club fees do not include parking or launch fees. When we paddle Russian Gulch or Albion, participants will be responsible for paying the appropriate fees.
Rally your friends and family for a summer of Mendocino sea kayaking adventures. A minimum of 3 participants is necessary for the Summer Sea Kayak Club to start.
