Sea Kayak Surf Class
Launch, land, and play in the surf zone with control, safety, finesse, and FUN!!! Boat control skills in the surfzone directly transfer to boat control in rock gardens. In this course, we will hone boat control skills as we paddle and play in the surfzone.
Prerequisite skills include ability to swim 25 yards with your equipment, fitness and paddling skills to paddle 6 miles, paddling backwards with control, and bracing. Dressing for immersion (wetsuits or drysuits) is required. We highly recommend taking our Sea Kayak Rock Gardening Class - Touring Ocean Rock Gardens prior to Surfzone FUNdamentals. For more recommended skills check out the American Canoe Association Coastal Kayaking Skills - Level 2.
This 2 Day Class is $220/person (paddlers using their own sea kayaks and equipment).
Sea kayak and equipment rentals are available. $50/day for a plastic sea kayak, paddle, and spray skirt. Wetsuit and splash jacket rentals are $10.
